A series of African morality tales, beginning with one in which a
man consults an herbalist about a magic way to attain wealth. Unfortunately,
the advice he gets requires the death of another human being!
The Arsenal of Deception - Theodore Rexwale was 40 years old. He worked in a local company in a remote village in Africa. At 40 years, one thing that echoed in his head was the maxim; "a fool at forty is a fool forever". He had seen the ups and downs in life and was poor. Every time he was driven to the factory in the worker's steel-van, he peeped through the van's window and observed other men and women that cruised pass them on the highway in sleek state-of-the-art vehicles.
Three Boys on One Finger - It was a very shocking sight. The three teenagers were standing in the dock. Now, for the first time, they really looked ruffled. The tide seemed to be turning against their lawyer who had promised that he would argue the case very well and they would be left off the hook. It was obvious to the parents of the accused boys that they really miscalculated with the lawyer.
The Yam's Head - Mrs Apolomia Mejedu was a Senior Clerical Officer at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Information. She lived alone with her child, Matthew who was just five years old. Thrown out of her matrimonial home by her husband's sisters,' Apolonia went through the storms of life to cater for Matthew, her only hope.
All Men Are Devils - Earlier that day, Prophetess Rebecca had narrated what she described as the revelation into what the future had in stock for Victoria, a 32-year-old unmarried woman. The Prophetess had told her she saw a very lanky and fair complexioned man beside her, fixing a wedding ring onto her finger.
Son of a Snake - The twin brothers did not come into the world easily. They gave their mother a tough time at the hospital labour room. For one week, Helen laboured at the hospital to deliver these twins. Scan pictures had shown that twins were being expected, but the pictures did not indicate to the medical doctors that Helen would be going through the labour room ordeal.
Butchered By An Antelope - Felix Ovie and his friend Paul Wowi had gone on a hunting expedition. For four hours, they searched through the forest and found no game. About the time they were about giving up their search to return home, they suddenly saw a thicket. Locked within this thicket was an antelope.
Running in the Air - Just the other day, Ajimate saw a man who drove a Lexus jeep with an open roof approaching the junction. To him, such a man driving that kind of a big car was a big catch. He jumped across the road and began to sing his praises.
