Part Three
Scene Two
| A
large crowd gathers in front of the King’s Palace. The occasion is the Jakuta
sacrifices. The Chiefs are present. The people are all happy. The Olori
wears a cheeky-grin smile as she radiates beauty beside the King.
Performers are dancing round an obelisk, which has religious significance. |
| KING
ABIPA: |
(whispers)
Olori, our gods’ ll be happy today. Our offerings had been accepted so
far. |
| OLORI: |
Happiness is ours. Your reign is trouble free. |
| KING
ABIPA: |
It’s not our
making. The gods wish it so. |
| The
worshippers has white emulsions in their faces with banters around their
loins. The Priest has heavy beats round his neck and an immaculate cap to
match. He steps forward, pouring libation and mumbling some words. The
worshippers kneel down while two of them flank the chief Priest… he
breaks the kola nut, throws them on the ground. A boisterous impression
show on their faces. The performers jump to their feet and resume
acrobatic dancing. The King, Olori
and the chiefs watch impressively until they dance off stage). |
