Bashorun’s house. The chiefs sat down gazing disappointed.
BASHORUN: Comrades, this…(short of words) I mean he gripped us.
AKINIKU: a single tree doesn’t make a forest. That man can’t shrewdly act alone.
Bashorun: (complains) And I said the wall have ears. I do believe it leaked…
SAMU: I don’t think so. I made sure nobody heard or saw me.
Bisa Enters.
BISA: (prostrates) I greet you Bashorun.
ALAPINI: Spy. This is one of them.
BISA: No.
BASHORUN: What do you want?
BISA: No.
BASHORUN: What do you want/
BISA: I’ve come to tell you that it wasn’t Kabiyesi initiatives that led to the capturing of the emissaries. Personally, I have the idea of going back to Oyo.
SAMU: (eagerly)
BISA: I was there when…when…
BASHORUN: (shouts) When what
BISA: Ologbo advised him.
BASHORUN: He’ll soon see our man. He’ll never poke..Again.
BISA: (bows) I greet you Bashorun.
AKINIKU: Take this and take the exit.
(Bisa leaves. The Chiefs begin to murmur)
