Cybersex 102, Lesson 4
by Cynthia McCaffrey

Never Assume Until You Know!

Your Instructor is Professor Taltos

I’m not usually surprised when life throws me a curve ball. It keeps me on my toes, and I try hard not to take any of it for granted. Occasionally, however, I find I’m reminded that I don’t know everything, and I should brush up on what I do know. For this week's lesson, I’m going to tell you of my experience; I can only hope you learn from this story as I have.

A few days ago I had an elderly lady come to me for some advice. My real world job allows me contact with a lot of people throughout the day. One of these days I’ll get into my real world and the characters that live in it, but for now I will continue with my story.

As we sat over tea, she started to tell me of her troubles. In the process of listening to her woes, I am afraid my mind must have been wandering, and I wasn’t paying attention as much as I should have. She was telling me (I thought) about her family and how someone’s behavior was causing unrest in the family unit. It seemed the couple in question were practicing unmarried sex. Assuming it was her grandchildren she was talking about, I began my usual lecture on how we all have to realize that the times are changing when it comes to marriage, and we have to accept some of these changes even though we may not agree with them, yaddy yaddy yaddy. I carried on claiming that perhaps the younger generation wasn’t necessarily wrong in their thinking. I added that I was a firm believer that when it comes to marriage we need to revise our thinking and beliefs and look at what works and what doesn’t. I mean, let’s face it I told her; when over sixty percent of all married couples will be divorced at least once in their lifetime, doesn’t this say the system isn’t working?

It was right about then I realized the poor woman was looking at me as if I had gone completely mad. For a brief second I thought she was going to gather her things and run out so I gently asked her if something was wrong. She looked at me with the sweetest twinkle in her eyes and said “Why dear, you misunderstand I was referring to myself and my boyfriend.” Needless to say I sat silently feeling rather the idiot.

My assumption made me realize how much I have to learn in this world. I also realize that perhaps I’ve been neglecting the seniors in cyberland. It’s not as if we lose our lust when the hair turns grey. Frankly I think 40-something is the most sensual time in a woman’s life. It’s a time when women are allowed the freedom to be aware of who they really are. Most women can see the light at the end of the tunnel. This light tells them that soon gone will be the pressures to fulfill everyone else’s needs. And at the end of the tunnel where the light lives is a place in a woman’s life where she wants to discover all there is to know about her own sexuality.

With this in mind I will complete this lesson with my next adventure. I actually went to a chat room for seniors. This room wasn’t for any type of fetish, and it wasn’t a cyberworld full of rules and regulations. It was a room full of warm, friendly seniors who wanted nothing more than to chat and have an occasional sexual adventure with a willing partner. Their imagination and willingness to learn new things was amazing. I have even learned a new trick or two that I’d be willing to share.

But as with all things it’s time for my lecture to end. I will gladly carry on with my tale next time. Until then it would probably do us all good to, then next time visit Grams and Gramps, there might be a lot more going on than baking cookies.

For now this is the Prof. signing off.
