Meeting Signs
by
Kimberly Carson

Now that we've reviewed some of the fundamentals of astrology, the next question might be, now what? What do I do with this information? The answer depends on the degree to which you want to incorporate an understanding of planetary influences into your beingness. At the very least, I recommend casually researching the sun signs of the people in your world: family, friends, co-workers, etc. This will provide a generalized database you can use to optimize your use of astrology in daily living. Notice the behavior patterns associated with each sun sign, the tendencies and predispositions toward certain values and attitudes and the overall method of operation each sign employs in meeting life situations. The object is not to objectify people, but to understand more fully and from another framework why we do the things we do and from this we can learn: better communication methods, better resource tools and quicker acceptance of one another's differences. You can learn to match certain tasks with the most appropriate person and minimize frustration by refraining from certain demands that an individual simply isn't capable of meeting. Can we do all of this without the aid of astrology? Sure.

The following are generalizations and not intended to discount anyone's potential. These are simply my observations and how I have learned to organize personalities.

When I meet Aries, I know that letting my Leo shine is going to be met with fun and play. I know to expect a certain degree of egocentricity that instead of judging, I recognize it's just the way Aries presents itself. I also know that if I need someone to join my band wagon on a project, cause or task, Aries will volunteer whole heartedly and be the loudest voice in the cheering section. If a situation calls for some creative initiative, I will head straight to the closest Aries in my world.

When I meet Taurus, I know that it will be helpful if I allow my conservative Capricorn to express and leave my airy, detached Aquarius at the door. I can expect oodles of patience from Taurus, but I best not get too pushy. If a situation calls for someone with materialistic savvy, Taurus is the one I go to. I know that by complimenting the beauty inherent in this Venusian ruled sign's life, I will score lots of points I may need later when I've pushed the bull too far. For fine dining tips, ask Taurus.

When I meet Gemini, I let my Aquarian energy come out full throttle and know there will be little to no space of silence between us. Gemini is who I go to with mental challenges or debates and can be depended on to maintain an energy level that's hard to find elsewhere. I would probably not expect much emotional support from a Gemini, but a dedicated ear and a pat on the shoulder and then on to the next thing.

When I meet Cancer, I know to respect privacy and not get too close too fast. For matters of public interest/policy, Cancer is the sign to enlist. I also prepare myself for the grabbing claws of this sign and realize they aren't trying to pin me down so much as expressing their natural urge to draw into themselves that which they hold dear. It's meant as a display of affection (I tell myself as I attempt to wriggle from Cancer's grasp).

When I meet Leo, basically all I do is applaud. I remember to listen more than talk and expect nothing less than a delightful encounter. If the situation involves children, find a Leo. All creative endeavors require the inclusion of at least one fire sign and Leo is always happy to be elected. Just make sure some other sign is following to wrap up the loose ends that Leo tends to consider beneath them.

When I meet Virgo, I get a sudden, unpredictable Uranian urge to mess up their hair or talk about sex. I can't help it...Virgo is so easy to rattle. However, if I am on a trivial fact pursuit, I call Virgo. If I need someone in charge of details and list making, I call Virgo. If the situation requires a high degree of personal hygiene, Virgo is the one. If you're just itching to make someone blush, find Virgo, but be nice, without their innocence, we'd be doomed.

When I meet Libra, I know that the encounter will be smooth and harmonious. For a task master par excellence, call Libra. They are the border collies of the zodiac. Trust Libra to finalize any project. For color coded files, you can call Virgo or Libra, but Libra will get it done more quickly. Virgo will spend too much time analyzing the system.

When I meet Scorpio, I take a deep breath and relax. To an Aquarian, they just make being human too difficult. However, if I need a subject explored, researched and investigated, even I'd call Scorpio. And after making Virgo blush, the conversation about sex would be picked up by Scorpio and not finished for some time to come. No pun intended.

When I meet Sagittarius, I give him my gambling budget and tell him to triple it. He will. I love running into Sag because no matter the situation, they will make it fun. I leave my sensitive skin and put on a Teflon coating to repel their thoughtless remarks, but Sag is such a power house of energy and enthusiasm it's easy to forgive.

When I meet Capricorn, I put on my most serious face and fake it. There is no cheering this sign up and I know it so I grumble along for a short time until we can change the subject. I know Capricorn appreciates positivism, but I don't expect Cappy to admit it. When I need someone in charge of an important matter, I trust Capricorn implicitly. If the situation requires career guidance, head for Capricorn.

When I meet Aquarius, I expect the unexpected. I let the fullness of my sun shine and the connection is generally divine. If the situation calls for a group leader, ask an Aquarian. If you want social compassion, go to Aquarius. If you want a mental encounter without the heavy emotions, call Aquarius.

When I meet Pisces, I smile because I know that deep in the heart of this odd, quirky individual lies a heart of pure magic. I never expect a straight answer, I listen carefully to Neptunian dreams and I watch with awe the endless patience and compassion this sign displays. And I hope I learn. All creative endeavors should be left at the feet of Pisces. Pun intended.

When you meet any sign know that you have been brought together by the power and in the presence of God. And remember: Your Will Is Your Life.
