Nothing demonstrates information better than experience and I thought it might be fun to share some interesting case studies of compatibility. Please keep in mind that these are personal observations and are in no way being offered as predictions or even reasonable examples of astrological compatibility. The first two cases will prove as a prime example:
Leo and Pisces: Any astrologer will tell you that this is a pair that might experience some fundamental differences in approach to the point that overbearing Leo will wear out meek Pisces and all romance will be lost in the power struggle. I know two such couples and for different reasons are a remarkable duo. In both cases, the men are the Leos and the women are the Pisces, which would suggest that the compounding gender roles would add to the power struggle. On the contrary. In the first case, the girl Fish serves her husband quietly and unassumingly until the Lion goes too far one time too many (many times) and the girl Fish has to muster up everything she has to put him back in his place...which she does most deftly (many times). There is no question who the ferocious one is of these two and the Lion learned years ago to stop pretending it was he. You see, one can push Pisces to the nth degree, but once they've been pushed, no sign can compete with their wrath or method of personal recovery - which might include merciless punishment for a very long time (Pisces is the clinging vine of the zodiac and doesn't let go easily) or worse yet, especially to a Leo, swim away into the vast sea never to be heard from again. In the second case, it is the Leo who serves his adored girl Fish's every whim and treats her like the royalty his sign bestowed him. This girl figured out early that the way to keep Leo's self-centered inclinations in check was to keep him so busy doting on her that he wouldn't have time for anything else. In both cases, the pairs adore each other and never had eyes for anyone else and all lived happily ever after.
Libra and Libra: Libra paired with anyone will almost always be a long-term union primarily because relationships are the signature feature of the sign. More than anything else in this life, Libra longs to bond and once bonded will develop incredible strategies for maintaining harmony and cooperation. There are few who know what really goes on behind closed doors for this pair, but they are bonded together like rubber cement and woe to anyone who attempts to pry them apart. They will be lifelong allies regardless of what may happen to the form of their bond. I know several double Libra marriages and there is an undeniable sense of solidarity that I rarely see with other pairs. Libra is the relationship master and if you can't make it work with a Libra you've got a good shot at being the poster child for your local singles group.
Aries/Aries: I recently met a young couple of this combination and immediately wondered how they managed all the fire between them. It was only a matter of minutes (Aries needs little introduction before regaling you with stories starring himself) before they told me that their credit card debt was becoming uncontrollable. I suppose that's one way to direct the heat. It has been my observation that Aries is a fairly challenging energy pattern for females and in romance they tend to flounder. This same couple seemed to have resolved this matter: they both work for Jiffy Lube (which is where they met).
Double Sagittarius: Anyone daring enough to tag along with a Sag had better have good energy and another Sag has as good a chance as anyone. I know such a pair quite well and must give the girl Sag the most credit for doing everything possible to keep up with her man and with a good attitude. The whole family plays ice hockey together, attends hockey games together and travels to both compete and watch hockey games together. Not only did this girl develop a love of this sport through her desire to spend time with her man, but went into the game with only one leg (she has a prosthesis on the other leg and has since broken her good leg playing hockey - only in a family of Sag's). I know of another marriage with a boy Leo and a girl Sag and he's had to whip into shape to keep up with her. The bonus is that there is no sport they won't play together so no matter where they are or what time of year, there's always something to keep them actively occupied. Two peas in a pod.
And then there is the seldom found but never lost bond between Scorpio and Pisces. Only these two will know what I mean. Theirs is the most impenetrable connection of love and hate I've seen. The depth of their passion is truly ‘til death do they part. There are some who can manage the unending flow of emotions, lust and power, but many perish at the hand of the one who once held their heart and would for some unknown reason give it again. It is an uncommon bond and one of the fiercest, cruelest and most obsessive...just the way they like it.
A bit easier on the psyche is a pleasant day in the life of Virgo and Aquarius. Now, many hermits and lifelong bachelors are born in September and one of the few signs who can appreciate their well disguised charm, eccentricities and mental appetite is the Water Bearer. Occasionally, this connection is enough to draw Virgo out of social hibernation. It's not the Aquarian's warmth that does it (for this only comes at unexpected times), or even the mental repartee that these two can share so splendidly. Oddly, it's Aquarian's diplomatic ability to shock the status quo and secretly delight Virgo's latent propensity in being an accomplice in this feat. The two won't pull off any grand scale sting operations, but I guarantee they could plan a very successful one...they simply don't have the heart for it. They prefer low profile, private shenanigans that only they may know about. For some reason, this works. And so does this pairing.
